Schwartzman Lab

Microbial collective behavior, multicellularity and symbiosis

Danny Osorio

Danny is originally from Colombia. He is a PhD student in the Schwartzman lab. The type of questions he is passionate about is the transition of life stages in organisms. His model organism of choice is Vibrio. He is interested to understand its incidence, niche, population structure, adaptations in response to stress, and the role of phage in shaping such communities. Before coming to USC he completed a double degree in Marine biology and MCB at UCONN and worked as an intern at MOTE. Outside of science he enjoys music both playing and listening, soccer and magic the gathering.
